OUR STORY

In the winter of 1921, an American Sunday School Union missionary started a small Sunday School, which, in 1959, became a fully organized church and grew into Lacey Baptist Chapel.

In December of 1964, the congregation of Lacey Baptist Church purchased an old Army chapel in Fort Lewis and had it moved to Lacey. There was much publicity from both television and newspapers as the huge building was moved along the highways. At one point the movers were told by the Highway Patrol that they could go no farther but since the building was blocking the road they must leave it in the first vacant lot along the way. The only area large enough to accommodate the building happened to be the lot on which it was to be placed anyway. The lot where the church was placed is the same place where we meet for Sunday services today.

In 2019, under the direction and leadership of Pastor Jeremy Mikkelson, Lacey Baptist Chapel was revitalized into the Lacey Bible Church that we know today. The emphasis of the church was placed on preaching the Bible.

Under the current leadership of Lead Pastor Jonathan Walton, Lacey Bible Church has an exciting future ahead.
